The 8th season of CPL (Caribbean Premier League) will commence from 18th August and Finals will be on 10 September 2020 according to the new statement released by the CEO of CPL.
The first season of CPL was started in 2013 and till now 7 seasons have been successfully organised. The 8th season will be played in 2020 this year.
Due to Coronavirus all the cricket related tournaments were closed for about 3-4 months but now the officials are slowly starting the cricket tournament which the audience had been waiting for many days.
In this season, a total of six teams will lock horns with each other for the trophy which will run for 24 days.
There are also speculations that, Former Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina are set to play in this season of the CPL.
Yuvraj Singh is free to play in any cricket league as he had announced retirement from International Cricket, but Suresh Raina has urged the BCCI to allow him to play in CPL 2020.

CPL 2020 Starting Date:
CPL 2020 i.e, Caribbean Premier League is set to commence from 18 August 2020 and will end on 10 September.
It was earlier scheduled to start from August 19 and end on September 24 but due to the Covid-19 impact, the CEO of CPL has decided to shorten the term of CPL 2020 from 36 days to 24 days.
A Total of 34 Matches will be played for 24 days between 6 teams including semifinals and finals.
Venue and Live Streaming:
All the matches of CPL will be live streamed by Star Sports.
Matches will start at 08:30 PM in the evening and 05:30 AM in the Morning.
Due to the Covid-19, All the matches of CPL 2020 are expected to be played in Trinidad only.
