KWIBUKA T20 Women’s Tournament Details:
The Rwanda Cricket Association is going to organize the seventh edition of the KWIBUKA T20 Women’s Tournament which started in the year 2014 in memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi
Initially it was announced that only five women’s teams will participate in this T20I league which are Rwanda, Uganda, Namibia, Nigeria and Botswana but later it was confirmed that three times champion Kenya (2015, 2017, 2018) would also participate which makes it more exciting and thrilling to watch.
Botswana, Nigeria and Namibia are the newest inclusions while defending champions Tanzania will miss this season. Two times champion Uganda (2014 & 2016) will be hoping for another clinical season by depending on their highest runs scorer (Rita Musamali) and wicket taker (Joyce Apio) of the last season.
A total of 14 matches are scheduled to be played between them in double round-robin format with the Playoffs. There will two groups namely A & B consisting of three teams each which are as below
Group A — Botswana, Rwanda and Uganda
Group B — Kenya, Namibia and Nigeria
Venue, Timings and Live Streaming Details:
All matches are scheduled to be played at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium in Kigali while two fixtures on a single day will start at 09:30 AM & 1:50 PM respectively.
There’s no clarity as of now whether the matches will be streamed live or not.
