The inaugural season of the Sri Lanka Premier League is going to commence from 28th August and will run until 20th September 2020.
Sri Lanka Board had recently announced that they are going to organize the first season of the Sri Lanka Premier League but they were waiting for the approval by the government.
Now that the Sri Lanka Government has given their approval to organize the Sri Lanka Premier League, Sri Lanka Cricket Executive Committee held a meeting today and finalised it’s commencement date and other details too.
A Total of 23 matches will be played in the Inaugural season of the Sri Lanka T20 League on the four international venues and those are R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium and Suriyawewa Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

Other than this, the executive committee decided that all the 5 participating teams will be named after the cities of Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board is already in touch with the Cricket Board and Players of other Countries to participate in this T20 league.
According to the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Approx 70 international cricketers and more than 10 Top coaches have agreed to feature in this exciting and furious T20 league along with leading Sri Lankan National Cricketers.
The Auction Process of this T20 League is going on in full speed which will end on July 30th, 2020 and after that the officials will announce the full fixtures and Squads of the League.
