WACA angry over not being able to host India-Australia Test match

Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) chairman Tuk Weldon has expressed displeasure at not being hosted for the India-Australia Test match later this year.

Perth Stadium have been handed host of the Test match, ignoring Waka.

The Indian team is scheduled to visit Australia later this year, where it will play a four-match Test series.

India will begin their Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Brisbane, where the first Test match will be played from December 3 to 7.

The second match will be played in Adelaide from 11 to 15 December whereas Melbourne will host the third Test between 26 and 30 December.

The fourth and final Test will take place in Sydney.

The Indian team will play their first day-night test match against Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from 3 to 7 January 2021.

As reported by Cricket.com AU, Weldon told reporters in Perth, “I am really disappointed by this decision. I think this is a wrong decision. I cannot understand why they made such decisions. ”

It Is a shock to WACA members

He said, “This is a shock to all our cricket-fans, people and members of our Waka. When you are one of the best stadiums in the world and the second best cricket venue in the world, it is beyond my comprehension. ”

Christina Matthews targeted cricket Australia

Cricket Australia has released their updated list of international tours in 2020

At the same time, West Australia Cricket Association (WACA) chief executive Christina Matthews has targeted Cricket Australia (CA) for preferring Brisbane at Perth for the high-profile Test series against India.

Christina says the newly constructed Optus Stadium is superior to Gaba in every way.

Despite this, Perth were handed the hosting of the low-key singles Test against Afghanistan in November.

In the last two years WACA has defeated Brisbane

“In the last two years, we have surpassed Brisbane in all aspects of cricket, viewership, broadcast ratings, even better rain at that time of the year, more corporate seats” FoxSports said on Thursday.

“When the primary objective of Australian cricket is to give priority to fans, it is astonishing that 10,000 members in this state who are paying year after year to support cricket, haven’t been given the chance to host the world’s number one Test team” said Christina.
