Pakistani Cricketer Taufiq Umar infected with Coronavirus

Former Pakistan Cricket team opener Taufiq Umar has been found infected with the Coronavirus and is currently quarantined in his home.

 

He is the second Pakistani cricketer to be infected with Corona after former first-class Cricketer Zafar Sarfaraz.

 

Unfortunately, Sarfaraz could not win the battle against Covid-19 and he died last month.

 

Earlier Majid Haq (Scotland) and Solo Anqueni (South Africa) have also been found infected with Corona.

 

38-year-old Taufiq Umar, said he had been tested positive for coronavirus infection, but his symptoms aren’t not serious at all.

Taufiq Umar, who played as an opener in the Pakistan cricket team, was also a part time wicketkeeper.

 

He also played in the historic series between India and Pakistan in the years 2004 and 2005.

 

Taufiq made his intentions by scoring a debut century in his first Test match against Bangladesh in 2001.

 

He made his international debut in 2001, and played test and ODI formats for a short period of time.

Umar has scored 2963 runs in Tests and 504 runs in ODI Internationals. He was a part time bowler too who had bowled at crucial times for Pakistani Team.
