Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina is now a former international cricketer who played in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 2008 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2021. He played a total of 205 IPL matches, he was able to get the nickname Mr. IPL and β€œChinna Thala” for being the main right hand of MS Dhoni. He’s simply one of the most beloved cricketers in India.

He played a big part in the success of his former team as he was able to complete 5,500 runs in his IPL career. He may have never been awarded the orange cap, but his IPL performance has been very consistent.

In 2020, he announced his retirement from the IPL, but his fans are still in for a treat for the upcoming IPL season. It’s been confirmed that Raina will make his commentary bow on the 2022 edition alongside former Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri.

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss, is one of Jamaica’s finest cricket players. He’s been an international cricket player for West Indies and is one of the most explosive batsmen in cricket history, especially in T20.

Gayle is a record breaker and until now, some of his records remain unbeaten. He is the first-ever batsman to hit 1000 sixes in T20 cricket. He was also able to score 175 runs in a match against Pune Warriors when he was still with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

RCB wasn’t his first team as he joined the IPL in 2009 with Kolkata Knight Riders. It was in 2011 when he joined RCB and stayed with them until 2017. In 2018, he then joined Punjab Kings. However, in 2021, he didn’t sign up for the auction and took a break from the IPL.

Fans need not worry about Gayle retiring anymore because earlier this year, he announced his intentions to go back to the IPL next year. According to Gayle, he would be glad to win an IPL title with Punjab Kings or RCB.

David Warner

David Warner is an international Australian cricketer who’s also a former Australian national team captain. In his IPL career, he’s played with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) from 2014 to 2021. However, during the last auction, SRH dropped Warner, and instead, Delhi Capital got ahold of him.

Warner has to be one of the most exceptional batsmen not just in the IPL but the cricket history. He did get the Orange Cap three times in the IPL and has scored more than 5800 runs. Aside from being a great batsman, he’s also been praised as a great captain. He was the captain when SRH won the IPL title in 2016.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the current captain of the Indian international team. He’s been playing in the IPL since 2006 and only ever played for Mumbai Indians (MI).  This year, he also remains the captain of MI for the upcoming IPL.

Sharma is nicknamed the β€œHitman” for being an astounding batsman and one of the most successful captains in IPL history. Under his leadership, MI was able to win 5 titles, which makes the team that won the most championship in the league.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is simply one of the most successful cricketers even outside the IPL. He’s one of the biggest cricket stars of his time. He also captained the Indian national team and RCB for a long time. This is the only IPL team he’s only ever played with.

Next year, Kohli will still play for RCB but he already stepped down as the team’s captain earlier this year to give himself some space and time to manage his workload and career. After this, Faf du Plessis has been named as the new captain.

As a batsman, he was able to get the Orange Cap and MVP titles in 2016. He’s also been named the ODI Cricketer of the Decade (2011-2020).
