Mumbai Indians Performance in IPL 2020:

The Mumbai Indians were the IPL franchise that was most popular. For the fifth time Rohit Sharma took them to the ranks in 2020, they became the first team to win the IPL Championship. Although the UAE record was disastrous, the Mumbai-based franchise protected their title successfully.

SWOT Analysis of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2021:

Strengths — Core group

In the last few seasons, the Mumbai Indians kept their core group of cricketers. The core of this franchise have been Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and Kió Pollard. Krunal Pandya has founded himself as the number one Mumbai Indian spin-bowler

Weakness — Indian pace attack

In their overseas pace bowling unit, the Mumbai Indians had some big names such as Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Adam Milne. However, in their Indian fast bowlers only Jasprit Bumrah is accurate. The Indians of Mumbai have Dhawal Kulkarni but also in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy four games he played this year when the Mumbai Pacer was wicketless.

Opportunities — Foreign players

Two international stars have been introduced to the Mumbai Indians all around. The first is the hitting all-rounder James Neesham from New Zealand. In the slog over, the Kiwi player will take some big shots. Also, three four overs of medium speed in the middle can be provided regularly.

Threats — Injury concerns

Since half of their foreign roster could not sustain their fitness for a long time, the franchise based in Mumbai could be in danger if numerous players suffer injuries. The most serious danger to MI before IPL 2021 seems to be the injury issues. It will become fascinating to see if a hat trick of titles can be achieved by the defending champions.

Top Performers from Mumbai Indians in the last season of IPL:

The top of the table are Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock (most six at IPL 2020), but Suryakumar Yadav also has significant influence in MI’s season. Then again, the season could be gone none but for Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard’s finishing touch. And don’t forget Saurabh Tiwary’s cameos. Virtually, everyone was chiping in if it wasn’t obvious already.

What happened with the batting was correct with the bowling. The champions were Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult, although they did not begin well, but the cast was also solid. Rahul Chahar got essential wickets, the scoring rate was well managed by Krunal Pandya. Pattinson and Coulter-Nile were not fantastic but had positions to play and when specifically asked, they succeeded in doing so. And to summarise their season, Jayant Yadav has also paid off handsomely in the final instead of Chahar.

Players to look out from Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021:

Hardik Pandya —  He’s the fast bowling allrounder on any decent side of T20. Pandya has been a guy for Mumbai in tough circumstances since his first appearance in 2015. Pandya can hit a ball from the stadium and is also willing, at the right moment, to select important wickets.

Kieron Pollard — For years the Major Trinidadian was MI’s most respected slog. Nobody in the cricketing world wants him introduction. Recently, in an international game against Sri Lanka, Pollard was just the third player ever to hit six six. After that he wanted a performance, his confidence would rocket.

Predictions for IPL 2021:

Mumbai is a favourite for the 2021 edition of the current champions and the most prolific team in IPL history. No matter how many matches, the fresh off six in a T20 international strike, Quinton de Kock, Trent Boult and Kieron Pollard, present an amazing attack. They are led by Rohit Sharma, assisted by Bumrah, Ishan Kishan as well as the Brothers Pandya, Hardik and Krunal, one of the best Indian choices. The purchase of Piyush Chawla can also prove gutsy, while the arrival of the famous Sachin Arjun Tendulkar is fascinating. Despite certain powerful teams’ problems, bet on your risk against the Indians.

Probable Playing XIs for the first Match:

Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock* (wk), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
