The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ordered the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to hand over the Wankhede Stadium to the quarantine facility.

In such a situation, the historic cricket stadium of Mumbai i.e, Wankhede Stadium will be used as a quarantine center to deal with it and help people.
For this, BMC has also written a letter to the Mumbai Cricket Association.
The BMC has ordered the MCAÂ to hand over the Wankhede Stadium to the quarantine facility as soon as possible.
This is also because the cases of Covid-19 in the city are increasing very fast.

According to The Hindu,BMC officials have issued a letter on Friday asking the MCA to hand over the stadium to the quarantine center with immediate effect.

The letter issued by Chanda R Jadhav, assistant commissioner of A ward, said,
“The premises will be used for emergency staff of A ward and those who have come in contact with COVID-19 patients and are not symptomatic. Will be quarantined.
” MCA Secretary Sanjay Naik has said that the Cricket Association will follow the orders of the Assistant Commissioner.
The city is expected to receive rain soon before the monsoon.
In such a situation BMC cannot use the ground, but can be put to use closed-door facilities including press box, president box and some corporate box.
In this stadium of Mumbai, there is also the office of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, i.e, BCCI.
In such a situation, the BCCI office will not be able to open soon.
