Truth be told, Indians also get excited about Dhoni because every small town Indian has a hope in him, a dream that one day we too will succeed like Dhoni and touch the sky.

For this reason, whenever there is talk about Dhoni’s retirement, everyone gets emotional and starts praying that the farewell of this great player should also be great.

Discussions of Dhoni’s retirement have been taking place since the day Team India was eliminated from the tournament after losing in the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup.

This match was Dhoni’s last match and since then Mahi has not played any match.

Now former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad has given a big statement about Dhoni’s future:

Prasad supported Dhoni’s return to Team India and said that although Dhoni is going to be 40 years old and he has not played any kind of cricket since last year,

His experience can be useful for the Indian team.

Along with this, Prasad advised the team management that Dhoni should bat at 3 or 4 and not as a finisher.

Prasad said,

‘I will try Dhoni in the upper order instead of the finisher.

I will tell him to bat at number 3 or 4 and if there are only 10 overs left in the innings, then I will tell him to play like a finisher he does.

We should not forget that Dhoni has a long experience and his advice is very important.

Prasad further said,

‘It is very difficult for Dhoni to return to the Indian team at the moment.

He has not played cricket for almost 1 year, due to this he has to face a very difficult challenge.

There is no doubt that he is still very fit, but things change with age.

He is going to be 40 years old. It is up to the team management what strategy it makes for Dhoni.

Significantly, Dhoni’s record at number 4 is excellent.

Batting at number 4, Dhoni has so far scored 2,351 runs in 46 innings and has averaged over 50 at this number.

So, if he plays in the upper order, then it will be very beneficial for Team India and thus Dhoni will be able to return to the cricket field once again.
