IPL may end its sponsorship deal after review with Vivo and other Chinese companies: BCCI

BCCI is going to have an IPL Governing Council meeting next week to review its mega title sponsorship associated with Vivo which is worth 440 crores.

During the clash with the Chinese army in Ladakh, 20 Indian soldiers were martyred, and since then there are speculations that India may cancel all its deals with China.

Considering this, the BCCI may also terminate the agreement with Vivo, which holds the sponsorship rights of the IPL, on which the BCCI is going to meet soon.

IPL twitter handle tweeted recently that,

“Taking note of the border skirmish that resulted in the martyrdom of our brave jawans, the IPL Governing Council has convened a meeting next week to review IPL’s various sponsorship deals”

During this meeting, BCCI will review more sponsors associated with IPL

, including Paytm and Dream 11.

Paytm has also signed a 5-year sponsorship deal with IPL, which costs around 326 crore.

There are many such small sponsors in the IPL who are related to China, in such a situation, BCCI will consider all those aspects and if possible, in this meeting, BCCI will terminate all its agreements with China.

India’s relations with China have become very sour at this time due to which war-like atmosphere is being created.

The Indian army gave a reply to the attack by China on the Indian soldiers in Ladakh at the same time, which also killed 43 soldiers of China.

It is also being speculated that the Indian government may soon decide to end all relations with China, for which Prime Minister Modi is going to have a meeting.
