Former captain of Bangladesh Mashrafe Mortaza tests Coronavirus Positive on Friday

Former captain Mashrafe Mortaza, who led Bangladesh in the Cricket World Cup 2019, has been found to be Coronavirus positive.

Murtaza’s younger brother Morsolin gave information in this regard on Saturday. Now Murtaza is quarantined at home.

Morsolin said that Mashrafe was not feeling well for the last few days, which is why he was tested. He was confirmed coronavirus positive after the testing results.

Mortaza, one of the most successful players in Bangladesh, is also a Member of Parliament.

In the general election held in 2018, he won a one-sided victory in Narel-2 seat by securing more than 96 percent votes.

He is part of the Awami League led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Mortaza resigned from the captaincy even before cricket activities stalled since March due to the Coronavirus.

Mashrafe Mortaza, who played 36 Test matches, 220 ODIs and 54 T20s in his career is the third Bangladeshi cricketer to be tested coronavirus positive.

His former cricketer Nafees Iqbal was also tested positive.

The same month, Ashikur Rahim, who played first-class cricket for Bangladesh, was also found infected with corona.

Apart from these, former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is also corona infected. Afridi’s health is improving and he is coming out of Corona’s grip.
