Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has said that he will put Indian captain Virat Kohli ahead of Australia’s Steve Smith, as well as India’s legend Sachin Tendulkar.
Pietersen, speaking on Instagram with former Zimbabwean fast bowler and commentator Pommie Mbangwa, said that
Kohli’s figures in chasing the target put him ahead of these two batsmen.
Pietersen said,
‘Kohli is a great batsman. Smith is not even close to him as compared to the number of times he has led India to victory by chasing the target under pressure.

Peterson said that this is why he has preferred Kohli more than Sachin in his book.
Pietersen said,
“Virat is ahead because of the chase figures. His figures are superb, his average is over 80 during this period.
He leads India in consecutive matches. He is constantly changing these figures. To me, winning for the country matters more.
Kohli is well versed in chasing goals and hence is also known as Chase Master.
Batting in the second innings, Sachin averages 42.33 while Kohli averages 68.33. Smith’s statistics are better than Kohli in Test format.
