Sri Lanka offers to host IPL 2020 | SL offers BCCI to host IPL 2020

Taking a gander at the present circumstance around the entire world, the BCCI had deferred the current year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) until further notification in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

While the Indian board needs to have the competition in a “sheltered” window, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SL) has offered to have the competition. 

As indicated by the SLC president, Sri Lanka will be protected from this Coronavirus pandemic when contrasted with India and hence in the event that it is conceivable, he is intending to keep in touch with the Indian board soon. 



“It would seem that Sri Lanka will be away from the coronavirus before India. Provided that this is true, we can have the competition here. We will compose the Indian cricket board soon,” SLC president Shammi Silva told Reuters in Colombo. 

While there were a few hypotheses to hold the competition in September-October window before the current year’s T20 World Cup in Australia. 


The COVID-19 pandemic has carried the entire world to a halt as it has contaminated more than 2 million individuals with the loss of life going more than 1,36,000.
